Specialized study tracks are available in various fields, including Art History, Business/Economics, History, and more, so it’s a great opportunity to design a program where you study China through the lenses of your professional interests.

    Presenter:

Dr. Brent Haas, Associate Dean, Director of Admission Affairs, Distinguished Associate Professor. Yenching Academy of Peking University

Student Speaker: Kathy Song (2022 Cohort)

Kathy Song is from Brooklyn, New York. She graduated from New York University Shanghai, double majoring in Global China Studies and International Relations. Kathy’s senior thesis explored the revived notion of tianxia in contemporary Chinese foreign policy thinking. Beyond the study of IR, she is interested in exploring Chinese society and culture outside of the academic bubble. During her undergrad, Kathy was a student leader for Conversations on China and worked as a mentor for Keru. As a Yenching Scholar in the Politics and International Relations concentration, she hopes to investigate unexplored avenues of Chinese foreign policy thinking. She looks to improve her classical Chinese and gain a more in-depth understanding of Chinese culture.
