The Office of Graduate and Advanced Education oversees the development and management of programs beyond the undergraduate level, including master's, doctoral, continuing and professional education programs, and other closely related non-degree programs at NYU Shanghai. The Office of Graduate and Advanced Education includes the Office of Graduate Admissions, which is responsible for the recruitment of new students into select graduate programs.

Eric Mao is Assistant Dean of Graduate and Advanced Education at NYU Shanghai, where he directs all initiatives of the Graduate and Advanced Education Office. He also represents NYU Shanghai on the NYU university-wide Doctoral Affairs Committee. Before joining NYU Shanghai, he was Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs and Lecturer of Law at the Peking University School of Transnational Law, where he oversaw all curricular matters and taught courses in legal research and writing. He holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School and is admitted to the State Bar of California.
Shangshang (Sasha) Chen is Senior Associate for Graduate and Advanced Education at NYU Shanghai and supports all initiatives of the Graduate and Advanced Education Office. Prior to joining NYU Shanghai, she worked for Leping Social Entrepreneur Foundation, the University of Hong Kong and SOW Asia Foundation as a nonprofit management professional and researcher on social innovation.
Chen holds an MPA in Public and Nonprofit Management and Policy from New York University, an MPhil in Politics and Public Administration from the University of Hong Kong and a BA in Economics from Fudan University.
Xiaoyun (Vivien) Du is Senior Associate for Graduate and Advanced Education at NYU Shanghai and supports all initiatives of the Graduate and Advanced Education Office. Before joining NYU Shanghai, Vivien was Assistant Director of International Admissions at Baylor University, where she was responsible for managing the recruitment campaigns of students from China and South Korea and managing on-going international projects and assisting on-campus events. Prior to that, Vivien was Senior Interpreter at Baylor Scott & White International Health and responsible for documents translation and interpretation.
Vivien has a MBA from University of Mary-Hardin Baylor and a Bachelor's Degree of Management in Marketing from Beijing University of Agriculture.
Yue (Michelle) Hua is Senior Associate for Graduate and Advanced Education at NYU Shanghai and supports all initiatives of the Graduate and Advanced Education Office. Before joining NYU Shanghai, Michelle worked for China Export and Credit Insurance Corporation, where she provided credit insurance to cross-border finance and acquired extensive experience covering the power, utility, transportation, oil and gas sectors. She has also interned with Asian Development Bank (ADB) and multiple United Nations agencies.
Michelle holds a Master’s Degree in International Affairs with concentration in Global Energy Management and Policy from Columbia University, a Master’s Degree in Applied Finance from Pepperdine University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Financial Management from Dalian Maritime University.
Within the Office of Graduate and Advanced Education, the Office of Graduate Admissions is responsible for reviewing and processing applications and the recruitment of new students to select programs.
Currently, the OGA oversees admissions for NYU Shanghai’s two joint master’s programs in Data Analytics & Business Computing and Quantitative Finance with the NYU Stern School of Business. Students interested in these programs may contact the OGA.
