The EHS team provides the EHS support, training, consulting and auditing services in teaching, research and campus operations. The team also involves managing risks, promoting sustainability, and implementing practices that minimize environmental impact, ensuring that all activities comply with regulations and support the long-term health of both the community and the planet.
Lab Safety Committee
NYU Shanghai Laboratory Safety Committee is consist of Campus Safety, Laboratory operation and Office of Research. It aims to strengthen the safety management of the university laboratories, and ensure the safety and compliance of laboratory activities.

EHS provides the proactive direction and standard operation procedures (SOP) to ensure the compliance of chemical, biological agent, drug, microorganism and equipment, etc., throughout the lifecycle of the acquisition, storage, usage, inventory and disposal.
For lab supplies procurement, please submit your request by one of the following systems. ChemLife only accepts acquisition with amount less than RMB5, 000.

Workday Wastes Disposal
Make sure no hazardous materials are placed into regular waste containers, flushed down the drain, or otherwise inappropriately disposed of. If there is any doubt, please contact the EHS team.
