NYU Shanghai offers two research fellowship programs for NYU graduate students. Since 2015, more than 100 students have been awarded fellowships. We invite you to learn more below.
NYU Shanghai Graduate Dissertation Fellowship
Each semester, NYU Shanghai awards 3-4 Graduate Dissertation Fellowships to support outstanding NYU doctoral students to conduct advanced research or writing in residence at NYU Shanghai. Fellows may come from any discipline, but are especially encouraged to engage in projects related to the strengths of the NYU Shanghai faculty. Each award includes a stipend, a waiver of maintenance of matriculation fees (if applicable), comprehensive NYU health insurance, and round-trip transportation. NYU Shanghai Global Research Initiatives Fellowship
Each academic year, NYU Shanghai hosts NYU master's and PhD students as well as NYU faculty who have been awarded Global Research Initiatives Fellowships by the NYU Office of the Provost. GRI Fellowships are awarded on a semesterly basis and designed to support fellows who wish to do research abroad. In Shanghai, fellows are provided a work space, round-trip transportation, and a flat-rate per-diem subsidy. For more information and to learn how to apply, please visit this page.
