Academic Program Review (APR) is a process by which academic units at NYU Shanghai assess program strengths and identify strategic opportunities based on emerging trends in the field. APR is initiated by the Provost’s Office and overseen by the Academic Program Review Committee, which supports each area in launching the review, conducting a self-study, and hosting external reviewers at NYU Shanghai. Based on the results of the self-study and external review report, the academic unit outlines key recommendations in an action plan. Areas will undergo the review process approximately every 7–10 years.
