APR Committee

The APR Committee acts as a facilitator in the APR process by providing support to academic units under review. Committee membership includes faculty appointed to 2-year terms by the Deans of Arts & Sciences, Computer Science, and Business, and additional faculty elected to 3-year terms by the Faculty Council. The terms are staggered to provide continuity via experienced committee members. The responsibilities of the Committee are procedural, not evaluative, and they include:

• Establishing the cycle of reviews and assisting the Provost’s Office in ensuring academic units are informed of upcoming reviews
• Ensuring that academic units have access to the data necessary for preparing the self-study
• Providing feedback on self-studies before the external review
• Overseeing the external review
• Preparing an executive summary for the Provost based on the report from the external review, the response from the academic unit, and the Dean’s response
• Instigating a review of APR policies and procedures at the end of the first 7-year cycle
