Hi! I am Jiaxin Yan, a junior majoring in Neural Science with a minor in Physics. I am excited to be the Learning Assistant for Calculus and Linear Algebra this semester. My research focuses on motor skill learning, particularly fine finger control, and simulating learning processes using knowledge from quantum mechanics. I help students by visualizing abstract concepts and providing applications across the life and physical sciences. Outside academics, I love playing piano and chess, and visiting museums. I currently study the neural mechanisms of imagined speech, using machine learning to analyze intracranial neural recordings. Outside of academics, I play the oboe and enjoy musicals.
