The Literary Reading Series at NYU Shanghai features readings by and discussions with acclaimed poets, fiction and non-fiction writers and translators from around the world. The series is sponsored by the university's Writing Program.

At this Literary Reading Series event, poet Victoria Chang will be reading from her forth book of poetry, Barbie Chang, published by Copper Canyon Press in 2017.

Ms. Chang's previous work,The Boss (McSweeney's) won the PEN Center USA Literary Award and a California Book Award. Her other books are Salvinia Molesta and Circle. And her picture book, Is Mommy? (2015, Simon & Schuster), illustrated by Marla Frazee, was named a NYT Notable Book. Her poems have been published in Best American Poetry, Poetry, American Poetry Review, Kenyon Review, The Nation, New Republic, and many other places. She was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2017, as well as a Sustainable Arts Foundation Fellowship. She lives in Los Angeles and teaches at Antioch University's MFA Program.
Victoria Chang was educated at the University of Michigan, where she won a Hopwood Award, as well as Harvard University, Stanford University, and the Warren Wilson MFA Program for Writers where she received a Holden Fellowship. More information about Ms. Chang can be found  at
