Cost and Financial Aid

Financial Aid at NYU Shanghai

NYU Shanghai is committed to providing educational opportunities to all talented students. NYU understands that financial aid at NYU Shanghai is a significant piece to the undergraduate experience. As such, we encourage all applicants to apply for financial aid by the required deadline.

Financial Aid for Applicants Outside China

Financial aid may take the form of university grants, federal aid (for U.S. citizens/official permanent residents of the United States), or outside scholarships.

For non-Chinese national undergraduate students, eligibility for need-based grants is determined on your demonstrated financial need from the CSS Profile, if you apply for financial aid.

If you wish to be reviewed for need-based institutional funding, you must file the CSS Profile  (and a CSS Profile for the noncustodial parent or Waiver Request Form, if applicable). The CSS Profile must be filed by the appropriate deadline and students are only required to file the application once, prior to admission.

US citizens, permanent residents, and eligible non-citizens also need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for US federal aid consideration.

Please review the information on our website under Applying for Financial Aid for more details about the required application(s).
