The Spring 2023 semester will begin on Monday, January 30 in person at the NYU Shanghai the New Bund campus.  See Academic Calendars for more information about important dates.

About the New Campus

WiFi: The NYU Shanghai wi-fi system will be available in the buildings.

Facilities: On January 30th, students can access the classrooms and the 500-seat library reading room, and 7-9th floor offices. The following facilities will be available by the end of February: the labs, the IMA classrooms, the music and dance studios, and performance spaces, including the large auditorium, the remaining administrative offices, the full cafeteria, and the gym facilities.

Cafeteria: Unfortunately we will not have full use of the cafeteria kitchens to prepare hot meals on January 30. Instead we will be providing simple meals on a grab-and-go basis.

Building & Furniture: Our new campus has been designed to earn LEED Gold certification as a green building that provides our community with a healthy and efficient environment. We invested in high quality Milliken carpets that are installed using a special low-gas glue. We repurposed all our furniture from the Century Avenue academic building.

For the past several weeks, a powerful ventilation system has been recirculating fresh air throughout the campus. During the spring festival break, the campus will be closed but the ventilation system will operate continuously. On January 25 and 26, all the halls will receive a full cleaning so that they are ready for the first day of class.
