The ARC Learning Assistants (LAs) will be offering peer tutoring support for students enrolled in NYU Shanghai courses! The tutoring is available on a drop-in basis only. Simply check the schedule and visit the ARC during the listed times for your course. Our front desk Information Assistant will gladly connect you with a Learning Assistant for a 20-minute session. Please note that tutoring is offered exclusively in person at the ARC W523.

Who We Are

ARC Learning Assistants (LA) are NYU Shanghai student tutors who provide discipline-specific academic support for NYU Shanghai students out of the classroom. LAs work closely with faculty and ARC professionals to support student success and promote independent and active learning. LAs provide Individual and small-group tutoring in a variety of STEM, Business, Economics, and Chinese Language courses.
What We Do?
- Facilitate your insights into the course content and your learning process
- Support you in identifying and solving learning problems on your own
- Help you review key concepts and strengthen your problem-solving skills
- Provide relevant learning information, recommend useful learning resources, and share personal learning experiences
- Encourage your motivation and help you build academic confidence
What We Don’t Do?
- Complete or correct coursework for you, or provide direct answers
- Assist you with any materials identified as tests, whether take-home, in-class, or otherwise
- Go over the entire lectures that you may have missed
- Predict grades for assignments or exams
- Advise on course selections or whether to continue in a particular course
