The library is located on the fourth floor of NYU Shanghai’s Pudong Campus. At the information desk you can check out and return materials, and get research help from our library staff. The academic commons is open 24/7, and features both silent and collaborative group study spaces. You can browse our collection in the stacks, and find more tables for individual silent study.

Matriculated students in NYU and NYU Shanghai have library privileges during semesters they are taking classes, or during Summer semester if they were registered for Spring. Non-degree students do not have borrowing privilege in NYU libraries.

- Delivery Services
Delivery Services help students, faculty, and staff access materials not available in NYU Shanghai library through different borrowing agreements. Materials can be requested within NYU Libraries, or through Interlibrary Loan.
- Ask a Librarian
Librarians are available to help NYU Shanghai students, faculty, and staff with your research, and can consult with you in-person, by e-mail, or via our online chat services, which are staffed almost 24/7. For more information, just Ask a Librarian.
- Loan a Locker
Library lockers on the 4th floor are available for one academic year on a first-come first served basis. Please visit the library Circulation Desk for more details.
- Workshops
The library holds pre-scheduled workshops throughout the semester on a variety of topics, including citation tools, research strategies, finding streaming audio and video, how to make Google Scholar work for you and many others. Visit our workshop schedule for more information or to register.

- Course Reserves
Course reserve system provides books, DVDs, and instructional materials that required or recommended by faculty. Reserve items are located behind the library circulation desk and check out for 4 hours. The library currently have the following items on reserve:
- At least one copy of every required print textbook for current semester.
- Some recommended or reference readings listed on course syllabus for current semester.
- Other books, DVDs and supplemental course materials requested by faculty to be placed on reserve
To find availability of a course reserve item, use the course reserve tab on library search box to search.
- Textbooks
Print textbooks: At least one copy of every required print textbooks will be available on course reserve during the semester when the course is taught.
E-textbooks: Library does not collect e-textbooks but provide technical assistance on e-textbook accessing. Email us if you have a question.
