Health Promotion and Weekly Programs

The Student Health Center offers a variety of wellness programs and educational resources to support the health and wellbeing of our entire student community.

Self-Serve Wellness Resources

Wellness supplies and educational materials are available for students outside of the Student Health Center office, Room W405. This includes hand sanitizer, bandages, menstrual supplies, and male condoms.

 

Weekly Wellness Programs

Each week during the academic term, the Student Health Center offers in-person or mixed-mode wellness programs, open to all students. This includes:

  • Lunch & Learn Workshops
    Interactive sessions led by medical and mental health professionals covering a wide range of topics relevant to student life, including stress management, nutrition, sleep, relationships, and overall well-being.
  • Guided Meditation
    Weekly mindfulness sessions that introduce students to evidence-based meditation techniques to help reduce stress, improve focus, and enhance emotional well-being.
  • Sound Healing 
    Experience deep relaxation through the soothing sounds of singing bowls and other therapeutic instruments inspired by nature. These sessions are designed to promote calm, balance, and restoration.
  • Handpan Experience
    An opportunity to learn and play the handpan, a unique melodic percussion instrument known for its calming and meditative qualities.
  • Small Group Workshops
    Skill-building workshops focused on topics such as procrastination, sleep habits, anxiety management, art therapy, sexual health, and other areas that support student success and well-being.

 

Calm Corner De-stress Space

The Calm Corner, located in Room W405, is a comfortable and welcoming space for students to relax, de-stress, and practice self-care. The space is open for drop-in use Monday through Friday from 9:00-5:00pm, and includes a variety of materials for students to use. We also have a Virtual Calm Corner website with additional self-care resources.
