Qilin Youth Summer Camp FAQs

Is part of the camp taught or instructed in Chinese?

No, the entire camp will be taught or instructed in English.

Do I secure a spot by finishing the payment?

The camp is capped at 40 participants. The final camper roster (and waitlisted roster if any) will be announced via email within 3 business days after the application deadline. Please stay tuned. 

Are international students eligible?

The camp is open to both domestic and international students. Please note, however, that visa support is not provided. International applicants are responsible for ensuring they meet all entry requirements for China. 

What are the age and basketball requirements for the camp?

This camp is open to students born between September 1st, 2011 (included), and August 31st, 2015 (included). Students with an interest in basketball are encouraged to apply.

What are the selection criteria for the camp? Is there a minimum number of applications for the camp?

If the application number exceeds 40, the Athletics & Fitness Center will select applicants based on their submitted materials. The camp will officially begin once it reaches 30 registered campers.

What does the camp fee include?

The camp fee covers one set of uniforms (jersey and shorts), one water bottle, lunch, insurance, and training equipment for each camper. It does not include transportation, accommodation, or any other expenses not mentioned.

What’s the refund policy?
  • For enrolled campers, if withdrawal:
    Before June 20th (included)     90% Refund
    Before June 30th (included)    50% Refund
    Before July 9th (included)    20% Refund
    After July 10th (included)    No Refund
  • For waitlisted applicants: Full Refund after the 1st day of the camp.
If I request a VAT Fapiao, when will it be issued?

The VAT Fapiao will be issued on the first day of the camp, which is July 14th.

What on-campus facilities will be provided during the camp?

Changing Rooms are available for use but lockers will not be provided. Campers may access the Main Gymnasium, the designated classroom, the B2 & B1 Cafeteria, and the Central Quad. 

Are family members allowed to enter the campus?

Pre-registered family members are allowed to enter the campus after 2:30 pm during the camp period, and only one person may enter on one day. Family members’ personal information will be collected upon confirming participation for granting temporary campus access.

Is this camp related to NYU Shanghai's undergraduate admissions?

No, this camp is not affiliated with NYU Shanghai's undergraduate admissions process. The undergraduate admissions process operates independently, and applicants must meet NYU Shanghai's official admissions requirements.
