Emma Quong '19, Media, Culture and Communication Major
NYU Steinhardt student Emma Quong studied away at NYU Shanghai during the fall semester of her sophomore year. Having set out to improve her Chinese language skills and learn about her heritage, the Media, Culture and Communication major soon found herself on a journey of self-discovery. She shares her favorite memories of Shanghai, from her dance and art classes, to a chance encounter in Shanghai’s art district.

Roman Chen '17, Self Designed Honors Major
Roman Chen graduated summa cum laude from NYU Shanghai in May 2017. The self-designed honors major is now pursuing a master's degree in Development Studies at The Graduate Institute in Geneva, Switzerland.

After graduation, Yixu Lin ’17 started her career at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) as an Associate Consultant, which she describes as her dream job. Passionate about both business and the arts, Yixu talks about how she strikes an elegant balance among her interests, which include yoga, dance, and hosting commercial conferences.
Danielle Sanger '19 Joins Climate Conference
Since July, Danielle Sanger '19 has been interning at Partnership on Sustainable Low Carbon Transport (SLoCaT), an organization that promotes sustainable transport, and attended the most recent UN Climate Change meeting, the 23rd Conference of Parties (COP23), in Bonn, Germany earlier this month.

A year ago, I came to NYU Shanghai with curiosity and dreams, finding it to be like a family built by students from dozens of different countries. Time flies and now I am already a sophomore. After a year of study, I feel even happier about deciding to come here.

Summer Internship Series: Shaping Public Policy in Washington D.C.
Summer is a time for travelling, relaxing, catching up with family and friends and… internships. Hank Wu, a rising sophomore at NYU Shanghai, spent part of his summer interning at the U.S. Department of the Treasury in Washington D.C. where he also participated in a civic leadership development fellowship. The native Pennsylvanian, who plans to major in Business and Finance as well as Computer Science, tells the Gazette about his experiences.
Martin Teng in Abu Dhabi
Driven by graphic design, IMA major Teng Ma (Martin) ‘18 used his study away semester at NYU Abu Dhabi to join the basketball team, introduce a logo to the sheikh of Abu Dhabi, and contemplate how to open up design jobs in his northeast China hometown.
