Senior year can be a very busy time for most students, and is filled with the capstone project, senior thesis, graduate school application, internship, and commencement. It is very important for students to check their degree progress reports and make sure they have completed all graduation requirements.

Four-Year PlanRequired Course(s): Some majors require students to take a one-semester or two-semesters capstone course(s).
Thesis Requirement: All students are required to complete a minimum 15-page thesis paper or equivalent to fulfilling the graduation requirements. Some students may complete the thesis requirement through the required one or two-semester capstone course(s) for their major(s).
Major Declaration:
Graduating seniors (Spring and Summer): 5 pm, Friday, February 11 (Shanghai time). Request(s) submitted after this deadline will be denied.
Minor Posting
Graduating seniors (Fall and J-term): The deadline for posting a minor is November 1st. Posting request(s) submitted after this deadline will be denied.
Graduating seniors (Spring and Summer): The deadline for posting a minor is 5 pm, Friday, February 11 (Shanghai time). Posting request(s) submitted after this deadline will be denied.
Last Semester Shanghai Residency Requirement: To be considered in "residence," students must be registered in courses on the NYU Shanghai campus. Therefore, students cannot choose to study away in their last semester.
Graduation Application
Students may officially graduate in September, January, or May. Students can march in May if you are within 16 credits of the required 128 to graduate. By the time you apply for graduation, you must complete all degree requirements. Learn more about the timeline for graduation application and diplomas.
Commencement
