Eric Set is an Associate Professor of Practice in Economics at NYU Shanghai. He joins NYU Shanghai by way of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he did his doctoral studies in economics. In addition, Eric holds an MSc in economics from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and a BA in economics from the State University of New York at Buffalo, with minors in sociology and media studies (film production). Feel free to talk to him about both economics and movies.

Eric’s research interests lie primarily in behavioral economics and political economy, though he maintains a keen interest in the links between biology and economic behavior. His research, in collaboration with the researchers in the United States and Asia, has been published in journals such as the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences and Frontiers in Neuroscience.
