NYU Shanghai’s annual I AM LIMITLESS conference is back next week with the new theme SOCIAL IMPACT + X. The spring conference, held every year since 2014, is designed to enlarge NYU Shanghai students’ awareness of possible career paths - especially careers in social impact.
This year’s conference, which begins March 1st and will run over the next two weeks, will include a record number of events, including three Keynote Speakers, four Alumni Dialogues, five Social Impact Panels, three Career Workshops, and three Organization Information Sessions. Organizers are also introducing an “alumni dialogue series,” bringing both Chinese and International NYU Shanghai alumni together to share their career paths following graduation.
“We hope students can strengthen the connection between individuals and the current world, cultivate resilience to thrive in times of uncertainty, and embrace various career possibilities,” said the Career Development Center’s Gu Yuwei, one of the conference organizers. “The conference will allow students to engage in a wide range of high-quality insight sharing and inspiring conversations with creative problem solvers, industry leaders, NYU Shanghai young alumni, and their peers.”
The conference, which will include both live and online sessions, will cover different themes during each of its two week run. In week one, the focus will be on “Social Impact and Industry,” with a mix of speakers, dialogues with NYU Shanghai graduates, and panels about what to do with your major. Keynote speaker Chao Sun of CITIC Securities will address "The development process and future trend of the Chinese capital market." Week two will focus on Social Impact and College Life, where participants will learn how to launch a career in social impact even before they graduate. Several events will also address ways students can be involved in the ongoing battle against COVID-19. Keynote speaker Chang Liu, Regional Director for Greater China and Southeast Asia at ACCESS Health International will be presenting on the topic of “Social Impact in The Era Of COVID 19: Finding Innovative Solutions to Improve Global Health Access.” While another panel will address “Individuals in Action: How Professionals in Different Fields Respond to COVID-19.”
