NYU Shanghai Vice Chancellor Jeffrey Lehman received the Shanghai Magnolia Silver Award on September 17th, 2013. Established in 1989 and named for Shanghai’s city flower, the award is presented annually as a recognition of significant contributions made to the city by members of Shanghai's expatriate community.  Vice Chancellor Lehman was one of 53 recipients whose work in various fields-- including economics, business environment, international relations, community development, management standards, and education-- has positively impacted the city. Vice Chancellor Lehman was deeply moved to receive the award, especially in light of the recent opening of NYU Shanghai. He said he would continue to work to ensure the University is a source of pride for the city.
