On March 3rd, NYU Shanghai hosted a delegation from Education New Zealand, a division of the New Zealand government tasked with promoting international education in New Zealand. The group, headed by Peter Bull (ENZ General Manager, International) and Alexandra Grace, (Regional Director- Greater China),visited NYU Shanghai for a tour of the interim year facilities at ECNU and a meeting with Vice-Chancellor Jeff Lehman. The delegation was eager to discuss and further understand the difficulties and benefits of running perhaps the most ambitious strategy in international education, the NYU Global Network University.
As a leader in international education, NYU aims not just to further its own mission, but global education as a whole. Through an open and direct conversation with Vice-Chancellor Lehman, the delegation was able to better understand both the effort and value behind successfully running a truly multinational university. By hosting knowledge sharing visits, NYU hopes to improve access to high quality education for all international students, not only those who attend NYU, and ensure that every student can make the world their major. With its location in one of the key centers in China, NYU Shanghai will play this strategic role for NYU across Asia.
