NYU Shanghai’s film and photography club, 24 Frames, has held its second ONEin24 Film Festival. Contestants raced against the clock to create a short film that included a randomly assigned location, object and line of dialogue. Click here to watch them in action around the city.

On Thursday, Sebastian Martin, founder of Shanghai-based Cambio Coffee, introduced students in lecturer Genevieve Leone's English for Academic Purposes classes to the principles of social entrepreneurship. He explained the "triple bottom line" (profit, people, planet) and encouraged them to "observe the world around them" to decide how they could make a positive impact.

NYU Shanghai hosted Jane Goodall's Roots & Shoots Leadership Workshop, aimed at empowering youth to pursue their passions and become responsible leaders. More than 100 local Shanghai college and high-school students attended the event, where they also heard from NYU Shanghai GoGreen initiative student leader Nofar Hamrany about her experiences bringing innovation and change on our campus, and from Dean of Arts and Science Maria Montoya and environmental studies professor Yifei Li.

On September 16, Academic Affairs and the Career Development Center co-hosted the Grad School Blast Conference. Students attended Humanities, Social Science, STEM and Business Grad School panels and personal statement workshops organized to support their applications to a master’s degree.

Despite bad weather, 11 members of NYU Shanghai’s staff and faculty team held strong to complete a national 24-hour relay marathon organized by China Life Insurance Company. Check out their moments of victory here.

NYU President Andrew Hamilton has responded to the US's latest travel ban, policy on Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and Title IX changes by restating NYU's belief in the movement of people and ideas and commitment to preventing and reducing sexual misconduct.
