U.S. Ambassador to China Terry Branstad paid a visit to NYU Shanghai on December 7 and fielded questions about U.S.-China relations from students. Branstad, who was accompanied by his wife, Christine Branstad, and U.S. Consul General for Shanghai Sean Stein, was greeted by Chancellor Yu Lizhong and toured the campus with Vice Chancellor Jeff Lehman and Provost Joanna Waley-Cohen. Following the tour, the ambassador met with a roundtable of students recommended by faculty. “China is still a mystery to many people in the US,” Branstad said. “Programs like [NYU Shanghai], where students get to integrate and get to know each other are really good” for improving relations between our two countries. Branstad also encouraged more Americans to come to China: “This is an exciting, dynamic, and changing place,” he said, noting that his own daughter had decided to come teach and live in China with her young family for a while. “You have to have a sense of adventure, but wow - what an opportunity!” Share: Facebook Twitter Weibo All Years202420232022202120202019201820172016201520142013 Apply Business Honors Program Holds 1st Completion CeremonyJun 8 2017 Pearl Tower Illuminated in NYU VioletMay 29 2017 Honoring Senior GraduatesMay 28 2017 Spartan SprintMay 23 2017 Invention Convention May 22 2017 NYU All-University CommencementMay 19 2017 Taking Charge of a Career PathMay 15 2017 Shirky on Sharing May 9 2017 Amethyst MemoriesMay 4 2017 NDU Visit May 4 2017 Trash Fashion Show Apr 21 2017 Tricks of the TradeMar 10 2017 Countdown to Graduation Mar 6 2017 Lighting the Way Feb 16 2017 Ocean of MovementDec 14 2016 Pagination « First First page ‹ Previous Previous page … 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 … Next › Next page Last » Last page
