U.S. Ambassador to China Terry Branstad paid a visit to NYU Shanghai on December 7 and fielded questions about U.S.-China relations from students. Branstad, who was accompanied by his wife, Christine Branstad, and U.S. Consul General for Shanghai Sean Stein, was greeted by Chancellor Yu Lizhong and toured the campus with Vice Chancellor Jeff Lehman and Provost Joanna Waley-Cohen. Following the tour, the ambassador met with a roundtable of students recommended by faculty. “China is still a mystery to many people in the US,” Branstad said. “Programs like [NYU Shanghai], where students get to integrate and get to know each other are really good” for improving relations between our two countries. Branstad also encouraged more Americans to come to China: “This is an exciting, dynamic, and changing place,” he said, noting that his own daughter had decided to come teach and live in China with her young family for a while. “You have to have a sense of adventure, but wow - what an opportunity!” Share: Facebook Twitter Weibo All Years202420232022202120202019201820172016201520142013 Apply Exploring Shanghai Through Digital Art and DanceOct 23 2017 Making MakersOct 20 2017 NYU Alumni Executive Mentor Program Launch DinnerOct 18 2017 Global Study AwayOct 11 2017 Badminton Team in Pudong’s 6th Sports GamesSep 28 2017 Roots & Shoots Leadership WorkshopSep 27 2017 NYU Shanghai in a 24-hour Relay MarathonSep 26 2017 Fire DrillSep 15 2017 A Campus of Urban FarmersSep 14 2017 Reality ShowSep 13 2017 Dance for CameraSep 6 2017 Prepare for Graduate School EventsSep 4 2017 Freshman's Guide to NYU ShanghaiAug 31 2017 Welcome Class of 2021!Aug 29 2017 Welcome Class of 2021!Aug 25 2017 Pagination « First First page ‹ Previous Previous page 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 … Next › Next page Last » Last page
