From a late January snow day to Finals week, 2018 was a year of new experiences and wonderful memories for the NYU Shanghai community. January 31: To recognize NYU Shanghai's donors, the university unveiled an interactive video installation and invited the community to create their own messages of support. February 8: Celebrating the arrival of the year of the dog with a Chinese calligraphy activity just outside the NYU Shanghai Library. March 14: Counting down 88 days until graduation, we celebrated Purple Day by showcasing our violet pride and handing out free cookies to anyone decked out in school colors! March 31 -- FEST Music Festival: A Saturday night of live music included sets by local professionals and even NYU Shanghai’s very own student band Fifteen Thirteen. April 16: NYU Shanghai showcased its arts programs at the 15th Shanghai Education Expo, held at the Shanghai Exhibition Center. May 6: NYU Shanghai’s Performing Arts and IMA students took their end-of-semester show to the next level at the Power Station of Art. May 22: The Oriental Pearl Tower shines violet for NYU Shanghai’s graduating Class of 2018. July 27: Strolling through the Former French Concession into the weekend. August 2: Avid photographer and rising junior, Eric Ling captured scenes on campus to remember NYU Shanghai before studying away in New York. August 24: Welcome Home, Class of 2022! September 1: Community service has always been an integral part of NYU Shanghai’s Orientation Week. True to NYU's spirit of being "in and of the city," students learn how they can contribute to their new hometown. September 11: NYU Shanghai upperclassmen took to the stage at East China Normal University for the Reality Show, a musical performance and NYU tradition. October 23: A historic first encounter of women’s soccer teams between the NYU Shanghai Qilins and the NYU Abu Dhabi Falcons. November 8: Starting to feel like fall on Century Avenue. November 11: Green Shanghai, a student organization dedicated to promoting conservation and sustainability on campus and across the city, hosted its third Trash Fashion Show at the Shanghai Himalayas Museum. December 9: Students in Ballet, Contemporary, Chinese Minority & Folk, and Choreography & Performance dance classes showcased their final works at this year’s fall dance concert.
