The Career Services Orientation began with presentations, specifically tailored for the inaugural group of 48 NYU Stern-NYU Shanghai MS students. The NYU Shanghai CDC support of these two programs provides a roadmap for the students between now and May 2020, when they graduate, to polish their own profiles, develop their marketability, and hone in on their career goals. Following the presentations of NYU Shanghai CDC, Eliza Shanley, Senior Director of NYU Stern’s Career Center for Working Professionals (CCWP), introduced Stern’s CCWP, which students can utilize as Stern alumni for coaching, networking and job support as they continue on their career path post graduation.

During the month of June, students will meet with Hao and Peng at Stern for their first one-on-one coaching sessions to refine their resumes, discuss their career aspirations, and create a personalized job search plan for the academic year. Later, throughout the Fall and Spring semesters when the students are at NYU Shanghai, NYU Shanghai CDC will host various on-campus recruiting and networking events, continue to meet with students for one-on-one career coaching appointments, and share relevant resources, job platforms and listings to ensure that all students feel prepared and supported as they navigate the job market.
