An amazing glimpse into Chinese Kunqu Opera

On November 4 - At the invitation of NYU Shanghai Student Life, the Shanghai Kun Opera Troupe performed at lunchtime at NYU Shanghai to room full of appreciative faculty, student and staff. Between sets, the actors provided a bilingual instructional workshop on the history, the basic movement, and the different characters of Kunqu Opera. A student and staff member, with their faces painted appropriately, learned to speak, walk, and laugh in the way of Kun Opera's famous characters, Likui ( 李逵）and Caocao (曹操).
