Annual Dumpling Festival

A feature of several regional Chinese cuisines, the humble dumpling in its many gastronomic varieties was celebrated at the NYU Shanghai Annual Dumpling Festival. Some 10,000 dumplings were on offer, including pot-stickers, steamed sticky rice in bamboo leaves, tang bao and boiled sweet rice. NYU President-Designate Andrew Hamilton attended the festivities as part of his first visit to the campus, along with NYUSH Chancellor Yu, Vice Chancellor Lehman and Provost Waley-Cohen. Students participated in various DIY crafts and activities such as Chinese fan stations and dumpling eating contests.
