Alumni in the House! NYU Shanghai - NYU Stern MS Programs Alumni Back for Panel and Mixer

On November 9th, close to 50 alumni and current students of NYU Shanghai - NYU Stern MS programs gathered at the Magnolia House of NYU Shanghai New Bund campus to foster connections, network, and recount fond memories. 

The event started off with an alumni panel, where five alumni from the MSDABC Class of 2020, MSQF Class of 2021, MSMRS Class of 2023, and MSOMS Class of 2023 shared insights drawn from their time in the program and after graduation. Working at BMW, EY Advisory, Bytedance, SWHY Securities, and an AI startup, the panelists touched upon topics including practical skills, internships and extracurricular activities, job search, industry selection, interview techniques, and salary negotiations. 

They also reminisced about their favorite courses in the program, commending the curriculum for its relevance. The program, the panelists felt not only emphasized training in technical skills but also endeavored to foster critical business acumen such as communication, teamwork, time management, and the ability to leverage faculty expertise and school resources. 

Following the panel, the alumni joined current students and faculty members for a networking dinner, where they traded tips and advice, exchanged fun stories, and shared words of encouragement. The alumni expressed excitement from visiting the New Bund Campus and catching up with old friends who they hadn’t seen in many months (or years!).

The event reflected the growing community of NYU Shanghai - NYU Stern MS programs and around graduate education at NYU Shanghai. It is part of an ongoing effort to build a tighter connection between the alumni and current students, with more events potentially to come.
