Event Review

  • On June 21, alumni Tianyi Zhao, Yingmeng Ma, Zining Wang and Hantao Huang joined an admissions panel in Beijing. As the first graduating class of NYU Shanghai, the four panelists shared their favorite memories, most valuable takeaways, changes before and after school, as well as their wishes and vision for the school.

A New Journey Begins

On August 26th, the 345 newest members of the Class of 2021, joined by their proud parents from around the world, learned their “first lesson” at NYU Shanghai’s fifth convocation ceremony.

    Alumni Alhan Fakhr ‘17 has been published in the most recent issue of The Diplomat. His feature discusses how the death of Sufi singer Amjad Sabri has revealed Pakistan’s violent contradictions in recent years.


  • A Word to the Freshmen

    The Paper talked to Vice Chancellor Jeffrey Lehman, who gave five pieces of advice for freshmen during the higher education focused Harvard Summit for Young Leaders in China.


  • Looking Back on the First Class

    Chengdu Economic Daily interviewed Chancellor Yu Lizhong about NYU Shanghai’s pioneering first class, while alumni Zhou Honghong and Chen Ziqin reflect on their NYU Shanghai experiences.

  • Alumni Lunch Panel:

    On August 27, alumni Meizhi Ng, Sherry Zhuang, Shengjia Yin and Veronica Hernandez spoke on a lunch panel during this year’s freshmen orientation. Panelists shared their favorite in-class and off-campus memories as well as some advice on living in Shanghai. 

  • "Alumni in Training" Program:  

    When the Class of 2021 moved in on August 25, each student was greeted by alumni with a welcome package that included a note of congratulations and a travel adaptor that comes in handy when taking their studies abroad.
