Nan (Sunnie) Lin is an Associate Professor of Practice in Marketing and Data Analytics at NYU Shanghai. Trained in Statistics and Data Science, she holds a PhD from the Department of Statistics and Data Science at the National University of Singapore and brings over 15 years of experience applying data, AI, and analytics to marketing and business transformation. Her career combines deep technical expertise with strong business and commercial acumen, with a particular focus on translating advanced technologies into real world business value. 

Her career spans financial services and the luxury industry, including senior AI and data leadership roles at PayPal, Gucci, and LVMH. At Gucci and LVMH, she pioneered and scaled AI and data science capabilities from the ground up, building teams and translating advanced technologies into business-embedded solutions across retail and corporate functions. Her work has included customer intelligence, personalization, clienteling, and AI-enabled business transformation, with a focus on translating data and AI into business value and customer impact. 

At NYU Shanghai, she brings this practitioner perspective to the classroom, connecting analytical rigor with real-world marketing and business challenges and helping students understand how AI and data can create value for customers and organizations.
