Jay Ludowyke is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Writing Program at NYU Shanghai. Previously, she held faculty positions at the University of the Sunshine Coast and the University of Queensland in Australia. She has a Doctor of Creative Arts specializing in Written Communication and her dissertation, 'Artefact Narrative: Creative Nonfiction About Historical Relics’, was published by Hachette as Carpathia: The Extraordinary Story of the Ship that Rescued the Survivors of the Titanic (2018).

Ludowyke’s primary expertise lies in creative nonfiction and narrative. She has co-edited two anthologies, Madness in Bloom (Moonrise, 2021) and It Begins with Us (Moonrise, 2022), and her short fiction has featured in Visible Ink and Meniscus. She received recognition with a Higher Degree by Research Emerging Talent Award and a $75,000 Australian Postgraduate Award. As an educator, she prioritizes creativity and evidence-based pedagogy and is an Associate Fellow of Advance HE. Her instructional approach embodies an inclusive philosophy aimed at cultivating an enriching learning environment.
