Nine leaders in art, business and education recounted their enlightening life and career encounters on November 11 at TEDxNYUShanghai 2017, thanks to a team of enthusiastic students whose efforts brought the idea-sharing platform back to Century Avenue.

  • What kinds of academic support services does NYU Shanghai offer?

  • Each student is assigned a professional academic advisor who provides insights on the university’s degree requirements and policies, observes students’ academic interests, conducts planning of curriculum and personal goals, and matches students with the tutors and resources they need. Advisors encourage students to proactively engage with their professors in course discussions and gain a deeper understanding of how academics and course content are applicable to professional development.

    Global Academic Fellows and assistants also play a supportive role to students by getting to know their interests, ideas and life perspectives, while helping them fine-tune their academic performance. You can find biographies and contact information of these supporters on the Academic Resource Center (ARC)’s website.

    The ARC provides free one-on-one tutoring sessions for students seeking to improve their English writing skills. It also offers over 30 free academic skills and coaching workshops to help students improve everything from time management, reading and note-taking, goal setting, decision making, and test preparation.
