Xiaojing Zu is the Assistant Provost and Director of the Library at NYU Shanghai, providing strategic leadership for the library to advance the university's teaching, research, and public service mission. She positions the library as an active partner in academic innovation and student success, overseeing a comprehensive portfolio of collections, services, spaces, and technologies, and directing a team of librarians, educational technologists, and staff to deliver user-centered services. In close collaboration with NYU's libraries in New York and Abu Dhabi, she ensures that students and faculty receive seamless, consistent support and engagement as they circulate across NYU's global network.
Prior to working at NYU Shanghai, she was Head Librarian at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) Hong Kong campus, where she established and operated a new academic library at an international campus. She began her career in the United States as a Librarian at Berry College in Georgia, where she oversaw interlibrary loan services and contributed to the information literacy programs.
Zu holds a Bachelor of Arts in Library Science from Peking University, a Master of Library and Information Science from Louisiana State University, and a Master of Business Administration from Berry College.
