Xuchu (Harry) Meng is The Chief Operating Officer (COO) of NYU Shanghai. In this role, he serves as the primary operational anchor for the university, translating the university core leadership's strategic vision into highly efficient administrative processes and executions. By leading the university's administrative machinery, he ensures that physical, human, and financial capital are fully aligned with the core missions of teaching, research, and social service. He also acts as a vital collaborative bridge across all operational, academic, and student sectors to build a unified infrastructure and a high-performance organizational culture.

Harry joined NYU Shanghai in 2012 as an inaugural member of the university’s administrative team, helping to build NYU Shanghai from the ground up. He is also active in the university’s efforts of Branding, Admissions, and Recruitment. Prior to joining NYU Shanghai, he did research and consulting in Urban Ecology and Sustainable Planning in research institutes and global firms.

Harry holds Ph.D and Master’s Degrees in Analytical Urban Study from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Geographic Information Science from Nanjing University.
