Interests and Hobbies
Music & singing: Learned up to 8 years of the drums, is now seeking to learn the guitar; used to do solo singing and choir back in highschool and still looks for opportunities to sing whenever possible!
Art: I like immersing in visual stimulation. I enjoy visiting art gallaries and exhibitions in Shanghai with friends every now and then.
Cinema and anything theater related would get me excited as well!
Why I chose NYU Shanghai
My decision to attend NYU Shanghai was the result of thoughtful discussions with my family about not limiting my higher education pathway to the Gaokao system. Given my strength in English and my interest in engaging with the international community, we looked for universities that could serve as a bridge to a more global academic and professional future. NYU Shanghai stood out not only for its strong connection to the global NYU network but also for its values of openness and freedom—qualities that align closely with my personality. I saw it as a place where I could grow both personally and academically while building connections that would support me on an international stage and help me become a true global citizen.
Favorite spot/thing to do in Shanghai
My favorite spot in Shanghai is the West Bund. It’s not only a vibrant commercial area but also rich in cultural resources. I especially enjoy visiting the contemporary art gallery and the nearby theater, both of which regularly host impressive exhibitions and performances. With so many great restaurants in the area, it’s the perfect place to meet up with friends. I love going there in the evening to grab dinner or just take a relaxing walk along the Huangpu River and unwind.
Favorite quote or Advice to Applicants
"Not all those who wander are lost." Not every step needs to be perfectly calculated. It’s okay to wander a little. When you're unsure of the ‘right’ choice, sometimes the best thing you can do is trust your gut and venture boldly into the unknown.
