Student leaders huddle to think about leadership

Last weekend, 35 student leaders from across the university, including athletic team captains, the Chinese Youth League and student government, took part in a weekend retreat to explore the value and challenges of leadership in today's complex and increasingly globalized society. The Guqin: Musical Poetry 

Wednesday, February 3, 2016 - Eight guqins, seven-stringed instruments of the zither family, waited patiently on the dimly lit stage as the audience filled the auditorium to near capacity. Dai Xiaolian, a distinguished professor of Chinese music at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, opened the evening concert with an overview of the history of the 3000 year-old instrument.  >> Read more

Students Shaping Community

Busy with projects and term papers, it’s hard to imagine NYU Shanghai students having time for much else. Yet, on February 2nd, many students flocked to the second floor Involvement Fair--where representatives from Student Government, Student Clubs and Organizations and Community Service partners greeted them with over 30 booths worth of extracurricular groups and volunteer options. >> Read more
