物理学

从基本的科学问题到尖端的技术应用,物理学是一门涵盖范围广泛的学科。从根本上说,它是研究物质、能量及其相互作用。物理学家的研究主题广泛,包括空间和时间的基本性质;宇宙的起源、大型结构和未来的演化;恒星和星系的行为;物质的基本成分;物质组织的许多不同模式,包括超导、液晶或各种形式的固体磁性;生物物质的运作,无论是DNA分子或细胞结构,还是细胞以内和细胞之间的物质和能量运输等。基础物理研究带来的技术进步不计其数,使从20世纪至今的社会发生重大改变,其中包括:无线电和电视、计算机、激光、X射线、磁共振成像和CAT扫描以及互联网等。
