上海纽约大学校歌公布

首届本科生毕业典礼即将来临之际，5月11日，上海纽约大学校歌出炉。上纽大校歌由学生事务部员工、纽约大学校友Jeremy Hissong（2014届史坦哈德教育学院），谭人众（2014届文理研究院）联聘教授 Dianna Heldman，耗时八个月，共同创作而成。点击这里可听校歌。

 

校歌的作曲者与制作人Hissong，提及歌中“城市之光”的意象及多元化的重要性，这是校歌创作的灵感之源，寓意着上海这座城市的气质与风貌，上海纽约大学的特色与精神，学生的光明前景。

 

创作过程中，Hissong比较了多所中美大学的校歌，想让这一首校歌“不那么传统”。创作初期，他决定不采用纽约大学校歌这种较为正式的风格。

 

“我们想营造出一种振奋人心的氛围，希望上海纽约大学首届本科生毕业典礼可以传递出一种朝气蓬勃、积极向上的感觉，如同飞机冲上云霄，”Hissong说，“与其全体肃穆，不如全情拥抱这令人兴奋的时刻。”

 

 

 

创作校歌时，Hissong和谭人众用到了小提琴、竹笛和打击乐器，还加入了京剧元素，体现出中西交融的多元化。

 

“我们尝试了多种乐器与旋律的组合，同时也注意歌词与旋律的和谐，希望传达出校歌的核心精神，”Hissong说。

 

作为上海纽约大学合唱团成员，谭人众于去年冬天开始中文歌词的创作。这出于她对音乐的热爱，也是她对学校深厚的感情。“作为纽约大学的毕业生，我将自己对这所学校的理解融入创作，这是回报母校的最好方式。“NYU在很多层面上塑造了今天的我。参与校歌的创作，算是我的一份特别的回报。”

 

谭人众没有字对字将英文翻译成中文，而是从英文歌词的意涵与精髓出发，进行中文歌词的再创作。

 

两位创作人均表示，最大的挑战是既要在歌词里表达即将毕业离别的不舍，但又不能太过伤感。“这首歌内涵丰富，我们在前奏部分精心编排的乐器组合，彰显出校园的活力，”谭人众说。

 

经过一轮轮修改打磨，两人制作出的完整版小样，获得师生的一致好评。“希望校歌可以和这个多元大家庭里的每位成员产生共鸣，”Hissong说。

 

Hissong表示，他最喜欢的是校歌倒数第二段的部分，音调变化产生巨大能量。“中英歌词来回交替，合在一起，传达出整体统一的信息。”

 

Hissong说，“从很多方面来说，校歌象征着上海纽约大学未来的发展方向。不同背景的人们齐聚一堂，用不同的方式表达自我。当大家一同协作时，就会产生一股特殊的能量。”

 

两位创作人对上海纽约大学合唱团、史坦哈德教育学院合唱团，以及其他为校歌伴奏或献声的音乐家与学生表示了诚挚的感谢。“看到上海、纽约两地的学生、员工、教师为校歌走到一起，这种感觉真的很棒。就这一点来说，它是真正展现学校团结合作精神的一件集体作品，”谭人众总结说。
