      David Perry现任上海纽约大学写作项目教学教授。加入上海纽约大学之前，他曾先后任教于纽约大学海外学习中心、纽约大学通识教育核心项目、爱荷华大学、圣约翰大学、肯萨斯城艺术院和密苏里大学肯萨斯城分校等。Perry教授在爱荷华大学获得文学翻译艺术硕士学位，在杜鲁门州立大学获得英语与德语学士学位。

      Perry教授的首本诗集Range Finder 于2003年由Adventures in Poetry出版，最新诗作集Expat Taxes 于2016 年由Seaweed Salad Editions/French [Concession] Press出版。他的其他书章作品包括 Knowledge Follows (Insurance 版本, 2004) 以及 “New Years”  (Braincase Books, 2003)等。Perry 教授对韩博著组诗《中东铁路》的译作 --China Eastern Railway  (Seaweed Salad 版本)于 2019 年出版。他还编辑了由马特·特纳翻译的鲁迅《野菜》的新版作品，后出版成 Weeds 一书（Seaweed Salad 版本, 2019出版）。Perry教授是上海纽约大学文学阅读系列活动的创始人和策展人。
