L. Bican Polat

      L. Bican Polat 现任上海纽约大学历史学教学副教授。Polat教授于2016 年获得约翰斯-霍普金斯大学知识史和人类学联合博士学位，研究方向为科学和医学的历史与社会研究。

      Polat教授的研究主要聚焦近代晚期美国和英国相互交织的人类科学和生命科学发展史上，重点关注发育科学在多个学科专业和各类社会实践十字路口的兴起和转变。他的第一部著作The Rise of Attachment Theory: The Genealogy of a Psychological Paradigm从依恋范式的历史角度探讨了这些发展动态（依恋范式是从发育和社会心理角度研究亲子关系的科学研究框架）。该著作采用档案和民族志的研究方法，通过一个世纪以来大西洋两岸各类研究团体蓬勃发展的调查实践，从其在两次战争期间精神病学和心理学中的起源，到从行为神经科学和全球心理健康实践角度的最新解读，跟踪研究了这一理论范式的发展历程。

      加入上海纽约大学之前，Polat 教授曾在清华大学密歇根研究员协会和土耳其伊斯坦布尔海峡大学哲学系担任博士后研究。他曾获Wenner-Gren Foundation 授予的人类学研究方向研究员基金，其研究成果发表在包括Journal of the History of the Behavioral Sciences、ISIS, and Studies in History and Philosophy of Science等学术期刊上。
