Intersections is a small group dialogue for all students to discuss issues and concepts related to social identities and diversity in a global context. They have the opportunity to dialogue with their peers from various cultural backgrounds and learn about their values, beliefs and perceptions. Students will discover ways to help navigate a diverse community and globalized world with a greater awareness of their individual identities, the experience and identities of others and how these intersect.
Discussion topics include nationality, race, ethnicity, sexuality, gender, socioeconomic class, social justice and more. The dialogue adapts to the current events of today's world and uses interactive activities and self reflection to apply these concepts to participants personal lives.
