NYU Shanghai Talk

A Taxi to the Twenty-Second Century
Professor Huw Price
Date & Time
Thursday, September 14, 2017 - 16:30 to 18:00
Room 102, 1555 Century Avenue, Pudong New Area, Shanghai
Thanks to a chance meeting in a taxi in Copenhagen in 2011, Cambridge now has two new Centres dedicated to ensuring that we humans avoid the pitfalls of our own technological success, and make the best of the opportunities of the twenty-first century (especially in artificial intelligence). In this lecture Professor Huw Price presents an insider's view of the history and vision of these Centres, and a message about the importance of making our own good fortune.
Professor Huw Price is Co-Founder of the Centre for the Study of Existential Risk (CSER), and Academic Director of the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence (CFI).

Introduction and moderation of the Q&A by Brad Weslake, Associate Professor of Philosophy.
