2017 Orientation Ambassadors

Amy DeCillis (Captain)
Class of 2020
Nationality: United States
Email: ad3866@nyu.edu

你好!I’m Amy from Charlotte, North Carolina. Hate on the south all you want but we have the BEST food! I love the Queen City/Crown Town, but I was actually adopted from Hunan Province. I returned to China when I was 16 and studied in Beijing for a year with School Year Abroad. I thought studying in China was even cooler than living in the land of comfort food, so here I am at NYU Shanghai. I love speaking English on the subway and confusing the locals, teaching my international peers about fried okra, and laughing at the latest Modern Family episode. I’m also captain of the Women’s Soccer Team here, so reach out if you wanna join! I can’t wait to meet all of you!

Annie Seaman (Captain)
Class of 2018
Nationality: United States
Email: ajs1030@nyu.edu

Hi! I’m Annie, a rising senior from Baltimore, Maryland. I am majoring in Global China Studies and minoring in Chinese and Interactive Media Arts! Fun Facts: I’ve never been on a roller coaster and my parents own a small candy store in Maryland. This past academic year, I studied in New York City but I am so excited to return to Shanghai and meet all of you! I love playing volleyball and served as both president of the Volleyball Club and captain of the women’s volleyball team. I was very involved with Student Government and I worked to plan school wide events like Dumpling Festival, Spring Formal, Fusion Music Festival, and Carnival of the Dead (our huge Halloween party). I love exploring new restaurants around the city and trying new foods. I also love working out and taking group fitness classes like yoga, barre and spin/cycle. If you have any questions, please reach out! Find me on Facebook or add me on WeChat (annie_seaman)! I can't wait to see you all in August!

Hey, my name is Greta Solomon. I’m a sophomore from Lincoln, Nebraska, USA. I get made fun of a lot for being from Nebraska, but I love being a Husker so I’ve accepted it. I grew up there my whole life so I decided to come to NYU Shanghai to learn Chinese and try something new. It’s not certain, but I will most likely pick a track within the Social Science major and minor in Interactive Media Arts and Chinese. In Shanghai I really like finding new, good restaurants and I’m slowly trying to meet more people who come in and out of the city.  Don’t hesitate to ask me any questions you have, and I’ll see you in the Shanghai heat in August!
