International Summer program in Global Health – Ben-Gurion University of the Negev

Global health is the study of health in the context of globalization. It emerges as an interdisciplinary field incorporating theory and social involvement, and disciplines such as medicine, epidemiology, sociology and more. The learning experience will combine classes, professional field trips and practicum, which will enable students to explore the realities of health and society in southern Israel.

The program's important dates are:

·     Application deadline: February 25th, 2018

·     Notification of Acceptance: March 22nd 2018

·     Orientation day: July 2nd 2018

·     Courses dates: July 3rd - July 31rd 2018

International Summer Program in Architecture: Cities in Asia

The International Summer Program in Architecture: Cities in Asia (Studio SGN-SIN) is a three-week course organized annually by the HKU Department of Architecture since 2010. It is a design and research studio that travels to multiple cities in Asia. Taught by a diverse group of faculty members from HKU, and speakers from internationally renowned universities and independent research groups, the course offers participants an unrivaled learning experience within Asia’s most dynamic contexts.

SUMMER PROGRAM IN SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE SOLUTIONS

The course will provide students with fundamental and cutting-edge knowledge and technology, as well as an integrated academic perspective, related to agricultural practices for improving food and water use worldwide, particularly in view of global desertification.  The  course offers students exceptional opportunities to pursue a combination of basic and applied research in agricultural and environmental topics.

The course will be composed of three tracks: soil and irrigation, plants under abiotic stress, and aquaculture. Practical aspects as well as integration between the three topics will be emphasized. Hands-on experience will be achieved by experimental sessions (including field- and/or lab-based projects) and concluding seminar presentations by the students.

SUMMER PROGRAM IN DATA MINING AND BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE

The purpose of the Summer Program in Data Mining and Business Intelligence is to provide both theoretical and practical knowledge, including tools, on data mining. The program offers two academic courses (each for 3 credits), where students learn the basic tools of data mining and the utilization of machine learning techniques for solving cyber security problems. The program includes a mandatory one week internship at BGU's Cyber Security Research Center. The internship corresponds with the course materials and contributes the practical experience component.  In addition, students will take part in professional field trips to leading companies, in order to enhance their understanding of data mining and cyber security.
