Dance (Minor)

A minor in Dance broadens a student’s perspective in the performing arts, gaining a firm understanding of not only movements, but also the history and sociocultural factors shaping those forms.

Through a joint program between NYUSH and Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, a student can minor in dance. You must complete 16 units in total for the minor.

8 unit requirements can be met by taking Choreography & Performance (ART-SHU 239.4) and Contemporary Dance (ART-SHU 225B) at NYUSH.

It is recommended that you take History of Dance (OART-UT 701) or Why Dance Matters (OART-UT 703) at Tisch School of the Arts in New York for 4 units, and then any combination of the courses HERE so as to add up to a total of 16 units.  To learn more, visit the Arts website.
