Adjunct Language Lecturer of Chinese

J.Y. Kaise Sun is an Adjunct Language Lecturer of Chinese at NYU Shanghai. Kaise has always had a deep interest in Chinese history, language, and culture, and believes that language education and cultural awareness bring people together and promote understanding and diversity in a global community. It is through this belief that she founded Shining Future Global Education, an educational nonprofit whose work revolves around language education and cultural exchanges. She has previously secured funding for the Rainbow Bridge Initiative which provided full scholarships to Chinese and American college students to engage in cultural exchange programs. Her teaching experience includes appointments at the Bronx High School of Science and Shining Future’s Language and Culture Programs. Her research interests include US-China relations, motivation in language learning, and second language acquisition.
