Fanny Gutiérrez-Meyers
Assistant Professor of Practice and Faculty and Student Support Facilitator

Fanny Gutiérrez-Meyers is an Assistant Professor of Practice at NYU Shanghai. She is also a Faculty and Student Support Facilitator for the University. Prior to joining NYU Shanghai, she was a personal counselor at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan. She holds a MSW from Smith College School for Social Work and a BA in Psychology from Haverford College.

Gutiérrez-Meyers’ clinical interests include adolescent development and group therapy. She is a licensed clinical social worker who, for the past 12 years, has provided individual, group, and family therapy for adolescents and adults in a variety of settings including outpatient, school, residential, and partial hospitalization programs. In addition to her clinical experience, Gutiérrez-Meyers was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Guayaquil, Ecuador as a family educator with Fundación Junto con los Niños, a program serving street working children and their families.
