Daniel Simon holds a BS in Biochemistry, an MS in Cell and Molecular Biology from Rennes University (France), and a PhD in Microbiology from Paris Diderot University (France). He has worked both in academia and the pharmaceutical industry. He worked as a lab manager and project manager for GlaxoWellcome in Verona (Italy) and Baxter Vaccines in Vienna (Austria). He taught medical microbiology and bacterial pathogenesis to medical students and graduate students, respectively, at Drexel University School of Medicine in Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, USA). With the advance of sequencing techniques, the need for data analysis became more and more important and he trained in Python and R. Daniel's current interests are in applying computer science to biological problems.
