Alice Wang

Alice Wang is an Assistant Arts Professor of Visual Arts at NYU Shanghai. Wang holds a BSc in Computer Science and International Relations from the University of Toronto, BFA from the California Institute of the Arts, and MFA from New York University. She was a fellow at the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, a Villa Aurora fellow in Berlin, and the recipient of several major grants from the Canada Council for the Arts.
Wang has presented solo exhibitions at Capsule Shanghai, ltd los angles, Human Resources, 18th Street Arts Center, and Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions. Additionally, she has presented artist talks or exhibited work at the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art, the Armory Center for the Arts, the Shanghai Himalayas Museum, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, and the K11 Art Foundation. Prior to joining NYU Shanghai, Wang has taught Sculpture, Photography, Film/Video, and Critical Theory in the Art Departments at UCLA, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, and Cal State LA.
